Sample card with the Sugarplums Beach Kit

Hi everybody,

I have just about no time to craft at the moment. I wanted to give the windows on the front side of our house a bit of paint since that paint was getting a bit bad and while doing so found out that the wood underneath the paint was rotting away. Seems like the people we bought this house from a few years back just painted over the woodrot, not other explaination why the would be rotting so bad underneath an intact layer of paint. Anyway, I had to strip away all of the paint and now a carpenter is replacing the damaged wood. When he's done I'll have to paint everything as soon as possible and that has to come before my precious crafting time.

Anyway... I did have some things finished before all this started and so you won't notice that much of it the first week or so and hopefully I will have some time to craft so it won't be that obvious after that first week either. Today's cutie was already on the All That Scraps blog yesterday. She is from the New CC Designs Sugarplums Beach Kit:
Isn't she adorable? She reminds me so much of my pretty little lady Dyanne who has hair that's at least as long and wears it in a braid most of th etime as well. I colored the image with Copic Markers and instead of using my normal E11, E00, E000 and E0000 for her skin I also used some E13 to create a little tan on this lovely little lady. When I had the card done I still wasn't satisfied so last Sunday I took my three kids to the beach and we collected see shells, the kids loved it and mum loved it too :). Here is a close up of the pretty little lady, all 3D paper pieced like I always do.
Sorry no little pieces this time, completely forgot to take a picture again. Still hope you like this cutie though. The papers are at least two years old because I used these on birthday invites for Dyanne's 6th birthday, I have no idea what the line was. The pretty flower is by Prima Marketing as are the pretty genie stones. The lace, jute ribbon, string and pearl beads are from stash. In case people wonder how to glue these things on a card, I used Olba Glue for these as well, it's the same glue I use for my 3D and it's the best there is for these kinds of things, these shells and beads won't go anywhere. It's available in the USA through Whimsy Stamps, you can find it HERE.

Hugs!!!!

Welcome to Denise's birthday party hop!
If you've come here from Tammy Louise's blog, then you're on the right track.
If not, start at Iris's blog so you don't miss a thing!
Today (May 16) we are celebrating the birthday of one of the best stamp company owners out there: Denise Lynn of Whimsy Stamps! To show our appreciation for Denise's kindness, the Whimsy family and previous guest designers are holding a birthday party blog hop using some of the amazing Whimsy Stamps products that we have grown to love.  Thank you, Denise, for giving us the opportunity to represent a company with great products, wonderful customer service, and most of all, an owner who truly cares about its artists and designers.  You are the best!
To show some appreciation to the Whimsy customers for helping us celebrate Denise's birthday, we are giving away a $25 Gift Certificate to Whimsy Stamps store.  Just hop along, leave a comment on the birthday blog posts by May 21, and a random winner from the comments left on participating blogs will be chosen to win the gift certificate. The winner will be posted on the Whimsy Stamps blog on May 22.

For today's birthday hop I have decided to use a very cute digi by Chrissy Armstrong named Free Ride. I figured this little cutie was just perfect to celebrate Denise's birthday!
Isn't he adorable? As always I colored him with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced him. The sentiment is by Ann Vento for Raindrop Echo Designs (also part of Whimsy Stamps) and you can find it in the Magical Mini Letter Seals-set.
The balloon has received a layer of ... and the golden ribbon has received a layer of diamond stickles.
The back of the card, with a personalized stamp, also by Raindrop Echo Designs, which you can find HERE.
And the little pieces this cutie was made of.

This hop is rather large, so here's the hop order in case you get lost:
Thanks for joining us today!  Feel free to head over to Denise's blog to wish her a happy birthday :).

Hugs!!!

A well contained Strawberry Beatrice :)

Hi everybody!!

Today I have a project to show you with a new but already one of my favorite characters from CC Designs by All That Scraps.
Isn't this little girl adorable? Her name is Strawberry Beatrice and I think she is SO cute. As you can see I've created a little project around her. The basis of this project is a lovely template by Lauren Meader from My Time Made Easy and this one is called Well Contained. Now let me just tell you, I LOVE Lauren's templates, they are super easy to use, I love the samples she and her team come up with and I'm always so tempted to buy all of them. This is actually a set, a carton with a holder:
Isn't that adorable? Just perfect for little gifts, maybe socks for a new baby or chocolates for a teacher, so cute!! I used white and red cardstock, an acetate sheet and very old (2009?) Magnolia strawberry paper from the Lazy Summer Day's collection. The flowers are sweetheart blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts combined with parts of a leaf punch by Martha Stewart. Now the stars that are in the box and for decorative purposes around the box are special, they each contain a handwritten wish! I ordered these from Wish Upon a Star (this is a Facebook link so you'll need to be on Facebook to visit this page) and gave her a list of Dutch wishes that she wrote on strips of paper and she folded these gorgeous little stars out of those strips. Isn't that the cutest idea ever!! In case you don't have Facebook and you want to see her stuff she also sells through a Dutch friend in THIS store.
Now a close up of cute little Strawberry Beatrice. As always colored with Copic Markers and 3D paper pieced for extra dimension.
And finally te little pieces to prove it :).

Hope you like this project, I loved making this!! Be back real soon!!

Hugs,

Silver Fairy weddingbox

Hi everybody,

Today I have a box to show you that I already showed yesterday on the Copic Marker Europe blog. It was a box I was asked to make by Sylvia Zet herself, so I hope you understand I tried my hardest on this one (not that I don't try my hardest on the other things I make of course :) ). Sylvia was very impressed with the Silver Fairy box I did a while back (HERE) and asked me to make a wedding present for dear friends that were getting married. I have asked her tons of questions about what she did and didn't like and shown her design papers to approve and this is the end result of all of this:
The gorgeous papers are by Inkido Design from the 6x6 Forever collection I bought those HERE. I used pretty feathers and butterflies, lovely pearl-swirls, Papermania Shimmer Dotz and square doilies. Ribbon, lace and hand stitching on everything.
This is a close up of the gorgeous Silver Fairy. She is as you may now for sale as a digi from Wee Stamps and as a rubber cutie from Whimsy Stamps. For the Copic Markers I used to color her I'd like to foreward you to the Copic Marker Europe blog where I listed all of them.
A side view of the box. The box was sprayed with a golden/platinum kind of color. The legs of the box as well as the lock and the key are by Tim Holtz and they also received a layer of the spray paint. The base is a simple cigar box though. As you'll probably be able to see the fairy was as always 3D paper pieced.
And these are the little pieces the fairy was made of.
The inside of the box, also decorated with the names of the bride and groom and their wedding date, just like on the top, everything was hand stitched.
And finally I created a very simple little wallet to go in the box where Sylvia and her husband Michal can put a little note or gift. The wings of the butterflies on the gorgeous design paper were given a layer of Stickles, I don't think that shows on this picture though.
The wallet was made using this tutorial: HERE I kept it very simple though.

Well hope you liked this wedding gift box as well. It was such a pleasure to make for Sylvia and Michal especially because the gorgeous Fairy came from her hands... no matter if I made this box, it's just as personal coming from her.
